MÉRIDA.- The Municipal Steering Committee of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in Mérida continues to outline its political strategy with an emphasis on party autonomy and the defense of democratic institutions.
He committee president, Rafael Echazarreta Torreshighlighted that the identity of the PRI is sustained by the daily work of its militants, beyond the narratives imposed by its adversaries.
Criticism of the federal government
In his message, Echazarreta Torres pointed out that the main challenge for Yucatán does not lie in the local opposition, but in the federal political model.
“The true adversary of Yucatán is the populist regime that seeks to be established: the one that, breaking its promises, has proven not only to be ineffectivebut also alien to the ethic of service,” he expressed.
Likewise, he reiterated a criticism that has characterized the opposition’s discourse: “A regime that He says not to lie, but he deceives; who says he doesn’t steal, but gets rich; and? He says not to betray, but he doesn’t comply”.
The municipal leader stressed that his party maintains a firm position regarding the decisions of the current government, always within the institutional and democratic framework.
Defense of the party system
Rafael Echazarreta maintained that the PRI defends the plural party system against what he considers a tendency towards the concentration of political power.
“Morena seeks to destroy political parties to impose a one-party country, a scheme that historically it has slowed down development and plurality”, he stated.

The leader insisted that the party’s strength comes from its militancy and its active presence in the territory.
He stressed that the PRI “will not be defined by its detractors, but by the and the PRI members in their constant work for the community”.
Territorial strengthening
As part of its new strategic stage, the PRI Mérida has established two priority axes of action: territorial work and effective communication.
The first seeks to strengthen the party structure through a continuous presence in neighborhoods and police stations in Mérida.
On the other hand, the communication axis aims to improve the dissemination of clear, professional messages focused on the real needs of the people of Merida.
Finally, Echazarreta Torres stated that The current PRI is a party in evolutionwhich seeks to adapt to new political contexts without losing its essence.
