NOS, one of the main telecommunications operators in Portugal, announced a profit of 182 million euros in the first nine months of 2025.
This value represents a decrease of 9.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, reflecting the absence of extraordinary results to benefit profits in 2024.
In a statement sent this Monday, October 27th, to the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), the company led by Miguel Almeida clarified that, were it not for this, profit would have grown by 21.3%, reaching 177.7 million euros.
NOS’ total revenues reached 1,336 million euros, marking a growth of 2% compared to the previous year, even with the significant devaluation in the Cinema and Audiovisual segment.
The telecommunications business segment, however, had a positive performance, with an increase of 7.7%, totaling 327.9 million euros, driven by demand from large companies.
Miguel Almeida highlighted that this performance is the result of rigorous management and a continuous search for operational excellence, accentuated by the adoption of artificial intelligence in operations.
“We are confident that we will continue to grow in operating margin, despite the challenges that the telecommunications market in Portugal presents”, stated the CEO.
NOS’ consolidated EBITDA rose 4.2%, totaling 618 million euros, with EBITDA specifically from telecommunications growing 4.3% to 569.1 million euros.
Furthermore, the IT and Cinema and Audiovisual areas showed a positive performance, with increases of 13.7% and 0.3%, reaching 14.3 and 34.6 million euros, respectively.
NOS also guaranteed 219 thousand new services since last year, with 184 thousand of these in the mobile sector. At the end of September, the operator provided a total of 5.686 million services.
Miguel Almeida concluded that “this quarter was another example of robust operational and financial results, which gives us an optimistic vision about the future of NOS, even recognizing that the market will continue to be challenging”.
