Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile has finally broken Siyabonga Nomvethe’s long-standing PSL goalscoring record.
It took the Namibia international just 10 years to equal Nomvethe’s record, and he did that with just two teams.
Shalulile first arrived in the PSL in 2015 when he signed for Highlands Park. He then joined Sundowns in 2020.
Now, he has scored 129 goals in the South African topflight, the same number goals scored by Nomvethe during his playing days.
It is worth mentioning that Nomvethe officially retired from football in September 2018, meaning his record stood for seven years.
The South African takes a look at players – active and inactive – who scored 100 or more goals in the PSL era.
