The Ukrainian capital has been battered overnight by major Russian missile and drone strikes lasting 10 hours.

Two women, a 68-year-old and a 22-year-old police corporal, were killed during Putin’s latest onslaught against Ukraine.

The Kremlin doesn’t appear to be letting up after unleashing its heaviest bombardment of Ukraine in the war so far on Tuesday night, sending more than 700 drones and missiles at several targets.

It comes days after Donald Trump said he would send more weapons to Ukraine while Vladimir Putin continues to reject ceasefire talks.

Despite previously claiming he could end the Russia-Ukraine war within 24 hours, the US president has complained of Putin’s ‘bulls***’ during previous ceasefire talks.

Leaked audio from 2024 of Trump boasting he would ‘bomb the s*** out of Moscow’ if Putin invaded Ukraine was released yesterday, potentially souring relations between the US and Russian leaders.

Kyiv has been left shrouded in toxic smoke this morning after the relentless drone strikes destroyed buildings, ripped up roads and damaged homes, setting several fires across the city.

Residents have been ordered to close their windows and avoid going outside while firefighters try to tackle the fires raging in multiple districts.

Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, warned locals: ‘Property can be restored, but human life cannot.

‘Unfortunately, we have two dead. These people were killed by the Russians. This is a terrible loss. My condolences to the family and friends.

‘Residential buildings, vehicles, warehouse facilities, office and non-residential buildings are on fire.’
