QHAWEKAZI MAZALENI SHARES FIRST MESSAGE AFTER BEING CROWNED MISS SA 2025
Taking to Instagram, she shared a heartfelt reflection following her Miss SA crown victory. She expressed her commitment to driving meaningful change during her reign.
“This is bigger than me. As someone who has experienced the new era of Miss South Africa from the inside, I cannot wait to share this journey with you. Our mission is rooted in meaningful change in our communities, which will continue far beyond my reign.
“This journey is not mine alone to walk, but I carry this incredible community that we have formed together. May you have the courage to live in your purpose,” she captioned the post.
WHO IS QHAWEKAZI?
Hailing from Butterworth in the Eastern Cape, Qhawekazi is a dedicated speech therapist with a Bachelor’s of Speech-Language and Hearing Therapy.
Currently, she is pursuing her Master’s, specialising in autism. She enjoys reading, fitness, and passionately empowers both girls and boys.
In her mission statement, she expressed deep concern over South Africa’s persistent unemployment, which remains above thirty per cent nationwide.
She highlighted the urgent need for youth-focused initiatives, noting that young South Africans face disproportionate challenges securing meaningful employment opportunities.
Through her platform, she plans to promote skills development, education, and entrepreneurship, aiming to reduce barriers and empower future generations.
“To break the cycle of unemployment, we must start by addressing its root causes. When 81% of our Grade 4 learners struggle to read for meaning, it shows us that our youth is left behind,” she said.
“As your Miss SA, my heart’s intent is to ensure inclusive education,” she continued.
