Rapper Poorstacy Dead at 26 Following ‘Incident’ in Florida

A 26-year-old rapper has died after an undisclosed “incident” in Florida which is still under investigation by authorities.

Per TMZ, rapper Poorstacy, whose real name is Carlito Milfort Jr., died on Nov. 29 in an “incident” in Boca Raton, according to the Boca Raton Police Department. Authorities were summoned to a local hotel, where they found Poorstacy unresponsive. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. A cause of death has yet to be confirmed, and no further details have been released in regards to the fatal “incident.”

A hotel employee who spoke anonymously to the outlet claimed that Poorstacy had been staying at the property for 10 days before he was taken to the hospital following a “medical emergency.” Poorstacy reportedly checked into the hotel room with a woman and a toddler, but he was the only person transported to the hospital.

Collaborators Paid Tribute to Late Musician

Blink-182’s Travis Barker, who collaborated with Poorstacy on several tracks, including “Choose Life” and “Nothing Left,” took to Instagram to pay tribute to his late collaborator after news of his death broke. “Rest in peace, you’ll never be forgotten,” Barker wrote alongside a heart emoji over footage of the two performing the song “Hills Have Eyes.” Bring Me the Horizon frontman Oli Sykes likewise paid tribute to Poorstacy, writing “RIP” alongside a black heart emoji. Sykes and Poorstacy collaborated on several projects, including the Grammy-nominated soundtrack album for Bill and Ted Face the Music (2020).

Poorstacy’s Music Had Millions of Streams

Poorstacy had racked up millions of streams on some of his tracks, including over 40 million apiece on Spotify for songs like “Hills Have Eyes,” “Don’t Look at Me,” and “Make Up.” His last album was 2021’s Party at the Cemetery, but he had last released a single back in October titled “Last Time Around” with Paris Shadows.
