The Secretary of Education of the State of Yucatán (Segey) announced the beginning of the pre-registration process for new students at the preschool, primary and secondary levels, corresponding to the 2026-2027 school year.
According to a bulletin, the procedure will be free and will be carried out through the portal preinscripciones.segey.gob.mx. It seeks to facilitate equitable access to basic education in all municipalities of the state, promoting close, inclusive care and support for families and guardians, the statement highlights.
The process will be divided into two stages.
The first, called simplified pre-registration, will take place from November 3 to 14 and is aimed at single schools in each location.
In these cases, mothers, fathers or guardians will only have to confirm registration directly with the school.
Online process
The second stage, online pre-registration, will take place from November 18 to December 19 for communities with more than one school option.
The calendar establishes that registration for preschool will be from November 18 to 27; for primary, from November 25 to December 5; and for secondary school, from December 3 to 19.
The system will give priority to the proximity of the family home, to students with specific educational needs and to school continuity between siblings.
For those who do not have internet access, Educational Development Centers (CEDE) will be enabled in Mérida, Hunucmá, Izamal, Maxcanú, Motul, Peto, Tekax, Ticul, Tizimín, Valladolid and Yaxcabá. The attention will be from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Guidance will also be offered by phone and email, depending on the educational level, from preschool and primary to indigenous and secondary education. Details are available on siteeducacion.yucatan.gob.mx.
Allocation results will be published on January 29, 2026 for preschool and primary school, and on January 30 for secondary school. Registration confirmation will take place from February 3 to 13.— MEGAMEDIA
