Why We Love This Deal
The REI Labor Day Sale is here through Sept. 1, and that makes now a great time to pick up camping and hiking essentials. From Patagonia jackets to The North Face tents and even Danner boots, a wide selection of great outdoor gear is up to 30% off right now, including this car camping-friendly sleeping bag.
The REI Co-op Siesta Hooded 20 Sleeping Bag is now marked down to $112, a 25% discount on the normal price of $149. It’s a top-rated sleeping bag at REI, and we’re not surprised—its predecessor was a big deal as well—and shoppers are raving about it.

What Shoppers Should Know
- Sizes Available: Medium, Medium Wide, Long, and Long Wide
- Temperature Rating: 20°F
- Materials: Polyester (shell and fill)
- Special Features: The Siesta Hooded 20 Sleeping bag features a “hood” area, an interior stash pocket, and a durable water repellent (DWR) shell and lining.
- Best Use Case: Camping down to 20 degrees, especially good for car camping.
The Siesta Hooded 20 Sleeping bag gives campers a chance to get a suitably-sized sleeping bag with a roomy fit, decent temperature rating (good to 20 degrees Fahrenheit), and a comfy hood that protects the head and ears just as well as the feet and toes.
This sleeping bag is made almost entirely from polyester (there are metal zippers, etc.) that’s either recycled or Bluesign Certified for environmentally responsible crafting. Its shell and lining are water repellent as well, meaning a leak in your tent on a sub-freezing night doesn’t immediately spell a disastrous night. On warmer nights, the bag opens up to be like a blanket.
What Shoppers Are Saying
One self-described “big fella” praised the sizing options of the bag and gave his take on how it should be used: “This bag is comfortable, spacious, and allows me to move around better than any bag I’ve used before. This is not a bag you take on an overnight hike, it is bulky and heavy, and it is best suited for car/tent camping, where space isn’t really a limiting factor.”
Another shopper attested to its value during stormy nights. “Used it through a storm on Second Beach, didn’t need any extra blankets or anything! Kept me so warm and dry, I love it!”
The REI Co-op Siesta Hooded 20 Sleeping Bag is just $112 right now, but it’ll only be that way through Sept. 1, when the REI Labor Day Sale ends.
