Mexico City. – Since Alessandra Rojo de la Vega began to govern Cuauhtemoc, announced the rehabilitation of the surveillance modules within the demarcation, a task for which it allocated 4.7 million pesos to a company that, due to failing to meet the deadlines for work at schools in Toluca, the students could not return to the classrooms.
According to the contracts that the opposition government made in the second quarter of this year, between April and June the district commissioned the “Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Public Buildings, (Surveillance Modules), within the perimeter of the Cuauhtémoc Mayor’s Office.” The works were assigned to the company Atelier Ingeniería y Arquitectura Tea, SA de CV for a total amount of 4 million 715 thousand pesos.
Likewise, the firm to which the mayor’s office Cuauhtemoc commissioned the rehabilitation of Modules, has a history of alleged fraud for not delivering works on time. The case dates back to 2023, when parents complained to the Toluca City Council, then governed by Raymundo Martínez Carbajal, that the unfinished works to rehabilitate secondary schools made it impossible for students to return to the classrooms. Despite calls to the authorities, students had to take classes online.
The contract executed by the Directorate of Public Works of Cuauhtémoc, in its public version, does not include annexes on the types of work necessary for the rehabilitation of the Surveillance Modules In the mayor’s office, however, it has been observed that the government of Rojo de la Vega Piccolo changed the institutional colors, since before they were only white, in addition to including signs of being Violet Points. This same rehabilitation was done in 2021, when former mayor Sandra Cuevas renamed the modules as Bunkers, with infrastructure such as panic buttons, similar to those included by the new administration.
