Eddie Salazar Gamboaa renowned research professor in Mérida, who dedicated more than 50 years to teaching and studying astronomy, which he shared widely for the readers of Diario de Yucatán, died on Thursday, October 16, as confirmed by his family.
Who was Eddie Salazar Gamboa?
Eddie Salazar studied Chemical Engineering from 1968 to 1973 and the Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from 1968 to 1972, both in the University of Yucatan.
He also attended the Master of Administration in it Technological Institute of Higher Studies of Monterreyunit Mexico Cityfrom 1975 to 1978. He also completed the Specialization for Teaching taught in the Research and Educational Services Center of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (1978-1980).
According to journalist Iris Ceballos, in his teaching activity, the researcher was also part of the Ministry of Public Educationwith affiliation to the National Technological Institute of MexicoMérida Institute of Technology campus, as a full-time professor.
He entered the institution in 1973, and since then teacher Eddie Ariel Salazar Gamboa taught subjects such as: Numerical Analysis, Thermodynamics, Physical-Chemistry, Chemistry, Differential Equations, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Basic Programming, Linear Algebra, Differential and Integral Calculus, among others.
From 1970 to 2001, Salazar Gamboa taught at the upper secondary and higher education levels of the Autonomous University of Yucatan; Likewise, he performed teaching duties in the Yucatan Higher Normal School from 1975 to 1982, and in the “Rodolfo Menéndez de la Peña” Normal Schoolfrom 1974 to 1977. He has taught at various public and private educational institutions in the city of Mérida, at the upper secondary and higher education levels.
Just last year he announced his retirement from teaching, while he announced that he would continue with his work dedicated to astronomy, one of his sources of dissemination being the pages of this publishing house, to which he shared monthly and annual astronomical phenomena.
