Resurfaced Will Smith Interview Clip Is Now Sending Shockwaves Across Social Media

During his time in the entertainment business, Will Smith has found success with nearly everything he’s touched. In the realm of music, the “Summertime” rapper has sold millions of albums, garnered millions of fans, and earned four Grammys. When it comes to acting chops, he led the iconic The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air before becoming a blockbuster movie legend, cranking out hits like Men in Black, Independence Day, The Pursuit of Happyness, and delivering an Oscar-winning performance in King Richard. Smith is also an accomplished producer and author.

With all of that being said, the man has lived, and it’s no wonder any interviewer would be glad to have Smith in front of them. Case in point, back in March 2025, Smith sat down with host Justin Richmond for an episode of the Broken Record Podcast. And what didn’t catch viewers’ attention at the time of the episode’s release back then is certainly setting social media ablaze now.

In his sit-down with Richmond, Smith talks about his interactions with some of Hollywood and music’s biggest players. One name brought up is The Notorious B.I.G. Richmond asks Smith if it’s true he met Biggie close to the time of his untimely death. After confirming he met the “Juicy” rapper the night he was murdered, Smith goes on to talk about not only Biggie Smalls, but Jay-Z and Prince as well.

“I don’t even want to say this out loud cuz it’s like a terrible jinx. I met Biggie you know, four hours before he got killed, and I talked to Prince eight hours before he died. I talked to Prince, and he called, and he was pitching, and he was saying me, him, and Jay-Z should start an entertainment company. And he said he had talked to Jay, and he wanted to do it, and we talked that night, and in the morning, he [Prince] was gone.  I just don’t know what that says about me [laughing].”

Social Media Reacts to Will Smith’s Comments

While there are certainly those caught off guard by Smith being among the last people to interact with both Biggie Smalls and Prince in the hours before their deaths, there seems to be a lot of chatter about the lost possibility of a powerful entertainment company spearheaded by the legendary Prince, the GOAT rapper Jay-Z, and the mult-talented Smith. Check out just a few of the comments found on X (formerly Twitter).
