Orlando Pirates have touched down in Spain and have hit the ground running as they prepare for next season.
Pirates are in Marbella for the third pre-season in a row and a first under new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.
Pirates land in Spain with new signings
On the plane heading to Spain, there were a number of new faces including players and coaches. Pirates have confirmed Sipho Mbule, Masindi Nemtajela, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Tshepo Mashiloane, Sihle Nduli,Tshepang Moremi, Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Yanela Mbuthuma. They also dropped the bomb of Oswin Appollis while they’re yet to announce the signing of Malian midfielder Abdoulaye Mariko. This publication also reported that TS Galaxy centre-back Lebone Seema is also set to join. This comes after the appointment of new coach Ouaddou.
Now that they have touched down and started working on the training pitch, some squad numbers have been revealed. That including that of Appollis. The Bafana Bafana was the last to join and officially be announced by the club. On paper, he is officially signing number nine for the club. Now with Pirates website releasing visuals of their first training session in Spain, his jersey number was revealed.
Appollis given jersey number 15
According to the video Appollis is set to don the jersey number 15 at Pirates. That number has usually been donned by fan favourite midfielders ay the club historically. One of those being Andile Jali during his prime years as a Buccaneer. The latest to where the jersey is Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, who is reportedly set to part ways with the club this window.
