A property developer and his rugby star son were stabbed to death at the company offices in south east London yesterday.

Terry McMillan, 58, and his 27-year-old son Brendan McMillan, have been named locally as the men killed near London Bridge station.

They were attacked in the office of The Trademark Group, their property development and investment company in Long Lane, Bermondsey.

Terry died at the scene while Brendan was taken to the hospital, and he later died.

Rosemary George, 59, works at the office and told Daily Mail: ‘Terry and his son Brendan are the ones who died.

‘It’s very sad. Terry was a good boss, a fair man. If you needed anything, you could go to him.

‘Bren did a physical education degree at Uni and went to America to play rugby. He was really into sports and very fit.

‘There are usually eight or nine people who work in the office; it’s not very big.’

One of Brendan’s former rugby clubs paid tribute to him and wrote: ‘Yesterday, Old Colfeians lost a member of our family, one of the kindest, funniest, most genuine people you could ever meet,’ the post said alongside a reel of photos of Brendan on and off the pitch.

‘Brendan lit up every room he walked into, forever smiling, always cracking a joke and always full of life.

‘His absence will be deeply felt for a long time to come. We will miss him more than words can say and we’ll always carry his memory with us.

‘We are also mourning the loss of his beloved father, Terry, a long time supporter and sponsor of the club.

‘Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Rest in peace, Brendan McMillan. Rest in peace, Terry McMillan.’

Another man in his 30s is still recovering in hospital while a 31-year-old man who is under police guard is also still recovering in hospital.

CCTV footage captured the moment the knifeman fled the office following the stabbing.

He is seen emerging from the building before he sprints away by a parked car.

The resident who captured the video said: ‘It was a targeted attack.

‘I caught the same man on camera walking calmly down the street a few minutes before the stabbings.

‘From the footage you can see him run from the archway of the building in front of my block of flats.

‘He turns left and is in a mad hurry to get away. This was at 12.58pm yesterday afternoon.

‘The police arrive just after 1.02pm. First in a squad car and then an unmarked car.

‘Other officers turn up with first aid gear and go into the building and then the paramedics arrive.’
