Russia reiterates Putin’s willingness to meet with Trump

Russia affirmed that Putin is willing to meet with Trump to talk about a possible end to the invasion in Ukraine, this while the Ukrainian army attacked Moscow with drones.

MADRID, Oct. 28. (EUROPA PRESS).- The presidential advisor of Russia, Yuri Ushakovassured this Monday that the President Russian, Vladimir Putinremains willing to meet with his counterpart from United States (EU), Donald Trumpafter the failed attempt to meet in Hungary.

“There are no concrete guidelines yet, but there is still a willingness to hold a meeting if a prior agreement is reached at a technical level,” he explained. Ushakov in statements to Russian television VGTRK collected by the Russian news agency TASS.

Ushakov recalled that the meeting was held on August 15 in Anchorage, Alaska, between both leaders, and that it was organized and held quickly as soon as the pertinent decision was made.

Trump himself confirmed last week the cancellation of the planned meeting with his Russian counterpart in Hungary, amid the impasse in talks to end the Russian invasion of Ukraine and after Washington imposed sanctions against two Russian oil companies.

Ukraine launches drone attacks against Moscow and its surroundings

The Armed Forces of Ukraine launched drone attacks against the Russian capital, Moscow, and its surroundings on Tuesday for the second consecutive night, without for now any information on victims or material damage, in the midst of the war unleashed in February 2022 by the invasion order signed by the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

The Russian Ministry of Defense indicated in a statement published on its Telegram account that during the early hours of this Tuesday, 17 Ukrainian aircraft were shot down, including one in the Moscow region and 13 in the adjacent Kaluga region. They are joined by three others in Bryansk.

For his part, the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobianin, stated that emergency services were sent to the place where a drone destroyed by air defense systems fell when it was “on its way” to the capital, without further details on the matter.

The attack, on which kyiv has not commented, takes place a day after Russia announced the interception of nearly 200 unmanned aerial devices, including about 35 that were heading to the capital, also without commenting on material damage or victims in the city.
