The Russian Ministry of Defense said, in a statement, that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 130 Ukrainian aircraft over the territory of several provinces during the night.

The statement stated that 31 drones were shot down over Kursk Province, 21 over Voronezh Province, 14 over Belgorod Province, and 10 over Bryansk Province, in addition to 9 drones destroyed over Oryol, Tambov, and Tula provinces, and 6 drones over each of Lipetsk and Yaroslava provinces.

The Railway Administration also announced that the railways in Kharkiv and Sumy provinces were subjected to two Russian attacks, which led to their destruction and obstruction to the path of train trips.

On Wednesday night, at least 4 people were killed, including a girl, in a massive Russian attack on energy sites in Ukraine, which also resulted in a widespread power outage.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned these attacks, saying that the “enemy” used more than 650 drones and more than 50 missiles of different types to strike energy facilities and ordinary homes in ten regions of Ukraine.

Zelensky explained that two people died in the city of Zaporozhye in the southeast of the country, where residential buildings were bombed.

Later, the administration of the Vinnitsa region in the center-west of the country announced the death of a 7-year-old girl in the hospital as a result of her injuries in the bombing, and 4 people were injured.

The Russian army, which launched its military operations in Ukraine at the beginning of 2022, is launching a new campaign of strikes targeting the energy network in recent weeks as winter approaches.

Russia also said that it took control of two other villages in northeastern and southern Ukraine, where Kiev forces have been losing positions for months, namely Sadovye in the Kharkiv region and Krasnogirsk in the Zaporozhye region.
