“I want to say today to President Claudia Sheinbaum, I want to tell her, looking at her in front of her, that At Grupo Salinas we are tired of so much litigation, we want to end this nightmare so we can continue creating value for 20 million customers at Banco Azteca, 10 million customers at Elektra and five million customers at Total Play and to guarantee the economic stability of more than 200 thousand families in the group, we now want to end this and we want to pay,” said Ricardo Salinas.
The president of the Salinas Group explained that he has been fighting the government for 19 years over taxes that he does not have to pay, since they have no reason to exist and they also want him to pay them twice.

That is why today he has made public two documents, one written addressed to the Tax Administration Service (SAT) where he is requesting that they inform him how much he has to pay, to settle this debt in less than 10 days; and also a letter sent to the President of the Republic a year ago, informing her of his intention to comply with the payment agreement.
“We have many things to do, I want to think that the government also has more important things to do than chasing a businessman, who is working every day to move his clients and employees forward. For the government, what they are going to charge us represents two days of spending, that is, 50 billion, for us it is a lot of money, but even so I am willing to make this effort, to turn the page and be able to dedicate ourselves to something else.”

Salinas Pliego sent a question to the President, in which he asked her if her intention was to pay or destroy the Salinas Group. pointing out that it is well known that his vision of the nation is not the same as his.
“Why is your government attacking me? Well, to distract us from everything they are doing badly and poorly managed in Mexico, that is what is happening. What is the main problem? The criminals are rampaging and unpunished and we are defenseless. Useless pharaonic projects, instead of covering the potholes that there are millions of in the streets, instead of fixing the drainage to avoid floods and diseases, incredible accusations of corruption, which are not investigated or punished, that is what they want to distract us from.”
