How did the actor die? According to Indian Express, Shah was rushed to a hospital suffering from kidney failure. Shah is survived by his wife Madhu Shah, that site reported.

That cause of death was confirmed by filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who wrote on Facebook, “Sad and shocked to inform you that our dear friend and a great actor Satish Shah has expired few hours ago due to kidney failure. He was rushed to Hinduja hospital where he breathed his last. A great loss to our industry. Om Shanti.”
The hospital also released a statement, according to NDTV. “We are deeply saddened by the passing of veteran actor Mr. Satish Shah. Earlier today, the hospital received an emergency call regarding Mr. Shah’s health,” it said. “An ambulance with a medical team was immediately sent to his residence, where he was found to be unresponsive. CPR was started in the ambulance and continued on arrival at P.D. Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Centre. Despite the best efforts of our medical team, Mr. Shah could not be revived.”

The statement continued: “Mr. Shah was a beloved artist whose remarkable contribution to Indian cinema and television will always be remembered. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and admirers during this difficult time.”

Pandit posted several tributes to the actor.
“Our journey began with @ramankumar.director‘s film #SaathSaath, Kundan Shah & Manjul Sinha’s #YehJoHaiZindagi to my directorial show #FilmiChakkar and ended up in a friendship of a lifetime,” wrote Pandit in a statement on Facebook.
“You always treated me like your younger brother. Grateful for all the wonderful moments shared with you and Madhu over the decades. Gone too soon, my friend. Will miss your infectious smile, playful scolding & one liners. Om Shanti.”
He added, “Satish Shah’s last remains will be at his house from 10 am to 11 am on 26th October….His last rites will be performed at Pawan Hans cremation ground S.V.Road (Vile Parle ( W). Mumbai at 12.”
