Mexico City.- In the midst of a climate of austerity promoted by the federal government, the Hacienda Zotoluca, an exclusive property located on the Apan-Zotoluca highway, Hidalgo, was the scene of a wedding that has sparked controversy. The marriage bond between Americo Villarreal Santiago —son of the Morenoist Governor of Tamaulipas and current delegate of Welfare in Coahuila— and the senator Cecilia Guadianadaughter of the late former Morena candidate in Coahuila, Armando Guadiana, brought together nearly 500 guests in an event marked by luxury and discretion.
The celebration lasted three days, with the estate fully booked from Friday to Monday. To guarantee privacy, the use of cell phones among attendees was prohibited.
According to workers at the venue, the bride and groom and their closest guests stayed in the 25 rooms of the venue, with rates of up to 5,900 pesos per night. In addition, 75 hotel rooms were occupied The Estatefour kilometers away, where a makeup salon was also set up with sessions for 3,230 pesos per hour. Some stylists were transferred from Saltillo.
The logistical operation included the transportation of attendees in Suburban trucks and 20-passenger vans, which made multiple trips. Nearly 100 drivers and service personnel were also accommodated in hotels in the region.
The hotel parking lot was full of vehicles with license plates from Tamaulipas, Nuevo León, Puebla and Morelos.
The hacienda, which offers horseback riding, balloon flights and craft workshops, was guarded by security personnel who prevented access to people outside the event. The opacity of the celebration contrasts with the principles of transparency and austerity that the party in power has promoted as its banner.
