Mexico City.- The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) appointed Reyna Maria Basilio Ortiz as head of the Administration Unit, according to circular 7/2025. However, the official was disqualified for 15 years after alleged authorizations of debts for unrecognized works on Line 12 of the capital’s Metro.
According to the information in Circular 7/2025, the Plenary Session of the Judicial Administration Body—the body that replaced the Federal Judiciary Council—agreed on the appointment of teacher Reyna María Basilio Ortiz as head of the Administration Unit of the SCJN since last October 1, that is, one month after the entry of the so-called new Court.
On September 10, 2014, the Comptroller’s Office of the capital’s government – headed at that time by Miguel Ángel Mancera – disqualified Basilio Ortiz for a period of 15 years, after awarding him authorization for improper payments when he was part of the construction project of the Metro Line 12.
Through a document from the Ministry of Public Administration, the graduate in Economics and master’s degree in Econometrics, declared that she had the position of coordinator at Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), with the function of attending to matters related to tenders, as well as the contracting of goods and services. He took office in this position in 2018.
Finally, the aforementioned also held the position of executive director of the Ministry of Works and Services of the then Federal District between March 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014, as well as the director of contract administration of the same agency between September 16, 2010 and July 31, 2011.
