Sebastian Maniscalco’s AC Residency Is the Comedy Escape We All Need

Sebastian Maniscalco, 52, has built his career on sharp observational comedy, from sold-out arenas to Netflix specials. Now, the beloved comedian is bringing his signature wit to Atlantic City with a residency at Ocean Casino Resort’s Ovation Hall, where fans can expect a more personal experience than his massive stadium tours.

Maniscalco has been coming to “America’s Playground” for years.

“I started at the Tropicana hotel in a comedy club, and then I moved over to the Borgata,” the father of two explains in a one-on-one interview with Men’s Journal.

Wanting a change of scenery and more of a “proper showroom” for the It Ain’t Right tour (no disrespect to the Borgata, of course), Maniscalco spoke highly of the 70,000-square-foot event center that seats over 5,000.

Coming off a stretch of arena performances, Maniscalco says audiences can expect a more intimate experience that’s unique as compared to those who may have seen him in a massive stadium prior.

Those of you who know and love Maniscalco’s comedy appreciate the relatability of his bits. Personally, I utter an annoyed “Why would you do that?” weekly. Maniscalco thinks now more than ever, people crave that kind of media.

“I think you’re gonna see more and more people immersing themselves in comedy and music and entertainment just to get out of the whole news cycle,” he says.

“The news used to be turned on when you wanted to see it. Now you could be looking at a recipe for roast beef, and then the next is what’s happening internationally. You’re getting bombarded with it, whether you like it or not.”

That’s why Maniscalco keeps his comedy observational and family-oriented.

“If you want to come to a show, you want to listen to what I have to say, you’re not going to be wrapped up in the whole political landscape of what’s happening,” the comedian elaborates.

“Whatever’s happening in the world is not as funny as what my father is doing.”

Maniscalco’s Friday night show delivered exactly what fans came for—a much-needed escape from the relentless news cycle. His set stretched well over an hour, packed with his signature physical comedy, laugh-out-loud personal stories, and even a playful exchange with the audience.

If you’re looking for pure entertainment without being force-fed opinions, his It Ain’t Right tour promises just that—along with the sore cheeks that come from nonstop laughter. You’ll love the new material, some of which is inspired by the backdrop that is Atlantic City.

“Walk the boardwalk,” he says of the new jokes he’s already worked into his set since the residency started Sept. 18.

Tickets are still available for the final leg of Mansicalco’s Atlantic City residency. Don’t miss it!
