MÉRIDA.- Staff from 26 of the restaurants that will be in the Feria Xmatkuil 2025 received training from Civil defense Yucatan. The staff of these firms, affiliated with Canirac, reinforced their knowledge in supervision, first aid and safety protocols.
The general director of Procivy, Hernán Hernández Rodríguez, reported that the support included the review of deposits and gas installations, the verification of the status and operation of the fire extinguishers, the establishment of evacuation routes and the integration of brigades that will act in case of emergency.

The official emphasized the importance of reviewing the validity and proper handling of fire extinguishers by staff. As part of the training, provided guidance and practice on caring for people who may be choking due to ingestion of food, thus reinforcing the ability to respond to any eventuality.
On behalf of approximately 140 workers from 26 affiliated companies, the president of Canirac, Claudia González Góngora, thanked the Procivy staff for the workshops, courses and practices given, which, she said, ensure that visitors enjoy the restaurant areas of the fairgrounds with peace of mind.
When does the Xmatkuil Fair start?
This year, the 51st edition of the Xmatkuil Fair It will take place from Friday, November 7 to Sunday, November 30. During those days the fairgrounds will open its doors from 8 in the morning to two in the morning. This year it is expected to exceed 3 million visitors, a figure to be reached in 2024.
