Shake Shack Just Expanded to the Most Unexpected Location—Here’s Where

From its delicious burgers to its tempting milkshakes, Shake Shack has built a loyal following. The popular fast casual restaurant chain can be found in major cities and even in airports. One location has been wanting a restaurant, and locals will be getting one soon.

Successful fast casual restaurant chains appreciate that customer loyalty is key. It is more than visiting the local watering hole every week. People want that favorite food when they are away from home. Additionally, each restaurant needs to deliver the same quality and attention to detail on the plate. When a brand can do that, its loyal customers will always enjoy a meal at its tables.

Shake Shack Says Aloha to a New Location.

In a recent company announcement, Shake Shack revealed it has partnered with Union MAK Corporation to bring the restaurant brand to Hawaii. The partnership is set to open its first Oahu location in 2027.

According to Michael Kark, President of Global Licensing at Shake Shack. “The spirit of aloha, rooted in generosity, connection, and care for one another, perfectly mirrors the values that have always guided Shake Shack. We’re humbled to be welcomed into such a vibrant, food-loving culture and proud to partner with Union MAK to create a Shack that feels truly local.”

Even though Hawaii’s locals cannot currently enjoy the new French Onion Burger after catching some waves on Oahu’s shores, the residents are fans of the restaurant brand. As Vince Espino, President of Union MAK Corporation, the exclusive licensed partner for Shake Shack on Oahu said, “Shake Shack is already very popular with locals who seek out the brand when traveling around the world, so we know it will do very well here with kamaaina and visitors, alike.”

Guests will be able to enjoy the restaurant brand’s signature items. From the favorite ShackBurger to its fresh spun custard, the classic items that people have come to love will be part of the dining experience.

Shake Shack Commits to Supporting Local Communities.

When the popular fast casual restaurant started in Madison Square Park, it was more than delicious food that captivated guests. The brand was founded in the concept of supporting a local community. Today, Shake Shack continues that idea with “Stand for Something Good.”

That concept is showcased in every restaurant. From supporting local purveyors to highlighting community projects, each restaurant reflects the people who frequent it.

With the Hawaiian launch, the partners are committed to creating a one-of-a-kind experience for its guests. From showcasing special artwork to featuring local flavors, the space will reflect the community surrounding it. That conscious choice is a way to engage with its customers and build a loyal following that continues Shake Shack’s success.
