The new campus of the Rosario Castellanos University inaugurated in Chalco is part of the Comprehensive Plan for the Eastern Zone of the State of Mexico, President Sheinbaum stressed.
Mexico City, October 25 (However).- The President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo This Saturday he headed the inauguration of a new squad of the Rosario Castellanos University in the municipality of Chalco, State of Mexico (Edomex) and stated that during his six-year term there will be 350 thousand new spaces for students of education superior.
“There are three things that we celebrate today: One, the right to education; two, the right to well-being of all those who live in the east of the State of Mexico; and three, we celebrate the great women who have formed our country, among them Rosario Castellanos,” said the president.
The Chief Executive He explained that this new university will operate with a hybrid model, so one thousand students will attend in-person classes, while another four thousand will take distance classes.
President Sheinbaum stressed that her Administration has the objective of generating 350 thousand new spaces for higher education students, this thanks to the opening of new campuses at the Rosario Castellanos University, the Benito Juárez García Universities for Well-being, the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) and the National Technological Institute of Mexico (TecNM).
In addition, he highlighted that the inauguration of this university is part of the Comprehensive Plan for the Eastern Zone of the State of Mexico, which has the purpose of guaranteeing access to all public services for the population of 10 Mexican municipalities: Chalco, Chicoloapan, Ecatepec, Ixtapaluca, La Paz, Nezahualcóyotl, Texcoco, Tlalnepantla and Valle de Chalco.
For his part, the head of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), Mario Delgado, highlighted the work of President Sheinbaum to guarantee access to education, which is an axis for the so-called Fourth Transformation (4T).
The Secretary of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation, Rosaura Ruiz Gutiérrez, recalled that the Rosario Castellanos University is a national institution, whose goal is to build a campus in each of the states of the Republic. Currently, 22 bachelor’s degrees and 15 postgraduate degrees are taught at this educational institution.
