“Obviously we do not agree,” declared the federal representative when asked about the topic in his morning briefing today, noting that EU must adhere to the international treaties that exist regarding security in international waters.
“There are international laws on how to operate against alleged illegal transportation of drugs or weapons in international waters, and we have expressed this to the United States Government and publicly,” he indicated.
Sheinbaum’s comments come in the wake of two attacks that the US Government has carried out in the Pacific this week; The first would have occurred on the night of Tuesday, October 21, leaving two people dead, while the second was announced today, and in this one three alleged drug traffickers would have died.
In both cases, as in the others carried out in the Caribbean, US authorities have stated that the vessels were used to transport drugs to their territory and warned that the operations will continue.
“These attacks will continue, day after day. They are not simple drug traffickers, but narcoterrorists who spread death and destruction in our cities. These drug traffickers are the “Al Qaeda” of our hemisphere and they will not escape justice. We will find them and eliminate them until the threat to the American people is extinguished,” said Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense of the United States.
