President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo denied that an agreement had been reached with Ricardo Salinas Pliego, given the debt that the businessman has in paying taxes.
In his morning conference this Monday, Sheinbaum Pardo declared that if the president of Grupo Salinas had wanted to pay, he would have already done so.
The federal president made reference to a letter published by Salinas Pliego, in which he assures that Grupo Salinas does want to pay and that “it is time for all of Mexico to know the truth.”

Salinas Pliego’s letter to Sheinbaum
Grupo Salinas presented the letter that the businessman sent to Sheinbaum Pardo more than a year ago: “In it, in addition to expressing our willingness to pay what is legal and correct, I informed him about the negotiation tables that were held with the Ministry of the Interior during the last six-year term.”
“The Salinas Group published on its social networks a letter that it sent us in October 2024. In that letter he mentions that Arturo Medina (undersecretary of Human Rights, Population and Migration of the Segob) had reached an agreement with them in the last administration, with President López Obrador.”
“I asked Arturo to come to really explain what happened. No agreement was ever reached,” Sheinbaum explained.
“If they had wanted to pay, then they would have paid from that moment. With the SAT no meeting is required, with the SAT no technical table is required. They can simply pay today,” said the President.
For her part, Grisel Galeano, tax attorney of the Federation, said that the business group will not obtain a response from the SAT, due to “the way in which they usually litigate by presenting resources to stop collection and lengthen legal processes.”

He commented that the SAT has decided to wait for the final resolution of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation to respond to them.
“It is necessary to clarify that if it is the desire of these companies to make any payment related to these debts, They can do it today, at any time, without restriction, they do not need a specific meeting with the tax authority or any other, nor a specific response, they can do it today,” Galeano declared.
