The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), which heads Jesus Esteva Medina,concluded the construction of the San Ignacio-Tayoltita highway that connects both entities and seeks to promote the economic activity of Durango and Sinaloa.
The project that had a investment of 3 thousand 170 million pesos and has two lanes, one in each direction, along 96 kilometers, will benefit more than 11 thousand inhabitants of these states and will boost national tourism.

Likewise, it has 14 bridges, three viaducts and a 515-meter tunnel known as “The Duranguense”.
The construction of this highway began in 2019 and its execution generated more than 24 thousand direct and indirect jobs.
The works were divided into 84 kilometers in charge of SICT Center in Sinaloa; y 11.6 km under the responsibility of Durango SICT Center which includes the El Sauz viaduct, 144 meters long.

To facilitate the transportation of agricultural, livestock and mining goods and products, the San Ignacio-Tayoltita highway achieves a reduction of 10 hours in the travel time, from the municipal seat of San Ignacio in Sinaloato the town of Tayoltita en Durango.
Among the benefits of this work of continuity, which is part of the strategy of the National Infrastructure Plan 2025-2030there is the generation of greater security and regional connectivity; improvement of communication, as well as strengthening the economic development of San Juan, Vado Hondo, Tepehuajes, Tenchoquelite, Los Brasiles and El Limoncito in the state of Sinaloa, and Tayoltita in the state of Durango.
