This Wednesday, October 29, the capital’s Prosecutor’s Office reported that the Interpol arrested the former government official of the Mexico City Simón Levy, in Portugal, pointing out that he has two current arrest warrants in the country, derived from different criminal proceedings, caused by his failure to attend seven court hearings between 2021, 2022 and 2025.
The arrest was the result of an immigration alert activated due to the detained person’s trips abroad.
According to the CDMX Prosecutor’s Office, “The orders were issued due to their failure to attend seven court hearings between 2021, 2022 and 2025, related to two criminal proceedings. The first with crimes against the environment and construction responsibility; the second, with threats and damage to other people’s property.”
“The CDMX Prosecutor’s Office maintains close coordination with the @FGRMexico and with the National Central Office of Interpol Mexico to carry out the necessary judicial and immigration procedures that allow the prosecution of the accused and the right of the victims to access justice,” the statement says.
