Snoop Dogg branded ‘homophobic’ after weird comments about gay people, and people are angry

Over the years, Snoop Dogg has cultivated an image of being a pretty standup guy, so why now, in 2025, is he being outed as secretly homophobic?

Constantly stoned, chilling with Martha Stewart, and having countless viral moments, Snoop Dogg’s chill vibes have turned him into a cult figure – whether you enjoy his music or not. But it now seems we can’t have nice things, because Snoop Dogg’s new comments about gay people in movies are seriously disappointing, and they’ve been branded “homophobic” by people on Twitter.

During a recent apperence on the It’s Giving podcast, Snoop discussed a trip to the cinema with his grandson to see the Toy Story spin-off Lightyear. Though the likes of Pixar are not known for their stellar LGBTQ+ representation, in a blink and you’ll miss it moment, one of the female astronauts is seen with her wife and child – scandalous, I know.

In fact, the moment was so shocking that Snoop found himself lost for words when his grandson questioned, “Papa Snoop, how she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman.”

“Aw s**t, I didn’t come here for this s**t, I just came here to watch the goddamn movie. So that’s like f**k me, I’m scared to go to the movies now, y’all throwing me in the middle of this s**t that I don’t have an answer for … it threw me for a loop,” the rapper admitted.

“These are kids … [do] we have to show that at that age? They’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer.”

Ironically, isn’t the answer kind of simple? Gay people can have kids, too; we’re not inventing the wheel here, guys.

People have been reacting to Snoop Dogg’s ‘homophobic’ statement

As you proboably expect, Snoop Dogg’s comments were branded “homophobic” on Twitter as people argued that kids are usually very receptive to new ideas – their parents are another thing entirely.

“It’s always ‘forcing an agenda’ when it’s a gay kiss, but it’s fine when het couples are making out and have cringe ass sex scenes in movies/shows. Just say you’re a bigot and go,” one person wrote.

Another said: “He is scared of gay people kissing on screen in a country with vigorous gun violence, racism, ICE deportations and a felon president??”

“If the existence of gay people scares you, maybe you should just stay inside,” someone else wrote.

Snoop Dogg has been approached for comment.
