The first teaser of the upcoming Corriedale crossover finally dropped last night, and soap fans can’t contain their excitement.

The epic TV event that will see Coronation Street and Emmerdale join forces for a single episode was announced earlier this year, amid news of huge schedule changes to the ITV soaps.

From 2026, both shows are set to air consecutive 30-minute episodes from Monday to Friday, creating what bosses are calling a ‘soap power hour’.

To mark this shift, the teams from both shows have joined forces to create some unmissable telly.

Though the details of the episode have been kept tightly under wraps, speculation has run rampant, and a new photo teasing two of the characters involved in the episode has built the excitement among fans even more.

Up to now, the only hint we’ve had about which storyline could be at the centre of the crossover was a poster of Emmerdale’s John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) in the background of a scene in Weatherfield police station.

Now, it is starting to look like much more than a red herring, with the revelation of the first two characters involved in the crossover.

It has officially been confirmed that Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Corrie’s DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) will cross paths in the special episode, and fans are overjoyed at the prospect.

‘It’s gonna be iconic I can’t wait,’ one Metro reader wrote on Twitter/X, while another said: ‘2 of the best characters and actors from each soap joining forces! This is going to be so good!’

‘THIS IS INCREDIBLE,’ a third enthused, while a fourth echoed: ‘CANNOT WAIT! this is gonna be epic!’

‘SO EXCITED,’ another said.

With Aaron having been so closely linked to John prior to his escape from the village, and Lisa looking set to share scenes with him in the crossover, could the detective be roped in to trying to track John down, given the wanted poster in Weatherfield nick? Or could this be entirely coincidental?

Amid the excitement, other Metro readers couldn’t help but giggle at the fact that the two confirmed actors had already hinted at their involvement in the episode.

‘of course its the two that leaked their crossover filming,’ one said with a laughing emoji, while another added: ‘I mean I’m not surprised they both teased it a bit.’

Last month, I spoke to actress Vicky Myers at the Inside Soap Awards, and she let slip that she was going ‘back to Leeds’, leading fans to speculate that she was involved in filming Corriedale.

Around the same time, Danny Miller made reference to filming night shoots, which again sparked rumours among fans.

They aren’t the only stars who have hinted at involvement in the episode, with Jack P Shepherd, who plays David Platt in Corrie, having mentioned being involved.

There were also rumours that Tracy Barlow and Carla Connor stars Kate Ford and Alison King had been spotted in Leeds, which sparked further speculation that they could also be in the episode.

Speaking about her involvement in the crossover, Vicky said: ‘To be involved in this unique, bold, innovative, not to mention history-making episode, in Coronation Street’s 65th year, (well, when we are filming it at least), is fantastic.

‘When I read the script and found out how two worlds collide, who is involved and how the characters interact, not to mention the impact the events of the night will have… Wow. It’s going to be unmissable.’

‘Unmissable’ was also the word that Corrie producer Kate Brooks used when I tried to coax some information out of her at the Cure Usher Ball last month.

Unfortunately, she remained tight-lipped on all other details, leaving us with nothing but speculation. We’ll just have to watch to find out!
