‘South Park’ Faces Backlash After Charlie Kirk’s Death — Fans Don’t Buy Delay Excuse

Comedy Central announced Wednesday that the newest episode of South Park, which was scheduled to premiere this week, has been pulled from airing due to Parker and Stone having “missed the production deadline.”

The official South ParkX page posted, “Apparently, when you do everything at the last minute, sometimes you don’t get it done. This one’s on us. We didn’t get it done in time. Thanks to Comedy Central and the South Park fans for being so understanding. Tune in next week.”

There’s no denying that South Park is notorious for creating storylines that mimic real life before it actually happens. A recent South Park episode, which made fun of Charlie Kirk weeks before his death at Utah Valley University on September 10, led to backlash against co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

While the series has been known for working under tight deadlines and even working until the last hour before a new episode drops, many fans are calling their bluff.

Neither Comedy Central nor the creators have officially commented on why the recent episode was pulled, with some fans questioning if it was due to Kirk’s recent death and the backlash against the creators.

“Matt and Trey used to knock this sh*t out in just a week, but now they’re struggling with a 2-week deadline? Nah, they had an episode but decided to scrap it after what happened last week,” said one fan.

Another added, “Love South Park, but literally nobody believes this. But I get it, honestly, wouldn’t be good either…”

“Hope the hate from people blaming y’all for Charlie’s death didn’t cause any problems. He enjoyed the episode. Was a good sport about it,” said another.

At the time, Kirk was not offended by the jokes told in the South Park episode and even found it funny.

That’s not all, as the South Park episode with Kirk was also pulled from its TV schedule. It was also pulled from the Comedy Central website, but is still available on Paramount+.
