Spain. We are poorer and real unemployment is rising

“Keep it dark” Tony Banks.

Inflation, the hidden tax, is once again suffocating the Spanish. Spain registers a new increase in the CPI to 3.1% annually, significantly higher than the eurozone average in recent months and 23.3% accumulated since Sánchez governs.

The CPI is always an imperfect measure of inflation, and in all countries it includes methodological changes that dilute the increase in the real cost of living.

For example, the reduction in the weight of housing in the CPI throughout the eurozone blurs the reality of worsening inflation.

The reality of the loss of purchasing power and impoverishment under Sánchez is alarming. Real net salaries have fallen by 5% since 2019, severe material deficiency has increased from 7.7% in 2019 to 8.3% in 2024. Spain has gone from being the sixth country in the European Union in population at risk of poverty and exclusion to being the third after Romania and Bulgaria.

The EPA certifies that there is no employment record when the activity rate is stagnant at 59% and barely reaches 2016 levels

13.6% of the Spanish population, some 6.7 million people, are in a situation of prolonged deficiency, according to Eurostat. Furthermore, the population has grown, which implies that the number of Spaniards in a situation of prolonged deprivation has increased significantly since 2018. Spain leads child poverty in the European Union with 29.2%, increasing the distance with respect to Europe to 9.9 points.

Sánchez does not reduce poverty, he increases it, and the reality of Spain is an impoverished country based on useless subsidies and inflationary policies. Socialism never reduces poverty, it makes it chronic to have dependent and submissive citizens.

The Active Population Survey also reflects the truth of unemployment in Spain. Contrary to government propaganda, the data:

The EPA certifies that there is no record of employment none when the activity rate is stagnant at 59% and barely reaches 2016 levels, and the number of affiliations is doped by more than 800,000 multiple jobs while the effective unemployment figure remains above 3.4 million with more than 730,000 permanently inactive discontinuous workers.

In addition, the number of people leaving the occupation increases by 2% to 1.3 million. The hours worked per employee do not increase, they drop to 405 hours per affiliation.

Spain dopes GDP with immigration, political spending and European funds

Doping membership with immigration, moonlighting and memberships with almost no remuneration is the recipe for the impoverishment we experience. Perpetuating poverty with useless subsidies and supposed welfare aid condemns us to being a poor and backward country.

All these data show that socialism has never sought progress, but rather control and that Its objective is to disguise the figures to present a euphoric reality that is clearly false.

A membership of 22.4 million (which includes 800,000 moonlighting jobs and thousands of unpaid contracts) is not a success in a country where the population has increased by more than 2 million and is expected to increase by another 650,000 according to AIReF.

That is why the activity rate does not improve, that is why the hours worked per affiliation worsen, that is why real net wages fall.

A government that was truly concerned about poverty and precariousness would never indulge in propaganda euphoria with these terrible figures.

Spain dopes GDP with immigration, political spending and European funds, The GDP per capita is very far from the growth that they sell us and the impoverishment of the population is alarming.

Socialism has not only worsened Spain’s position in poverty with respect to the European Union, but has increased severe material deprivation and plunged real net wages by plundering the middle class with taxes, and all this while squandering the largest fiscal and monetary stimulus in history.

Spain is not doing well. It’s going very bad. Child poverty is the norm, the loss of family purchasing power is widespread and Inflation is higher than in countries with much higher salaries.

Social democracy is always misery and propaganda. Spain has a record of both.
