Police in Hoover, AL are investigating what they say appears to be a murder suicide after a husband and wife were found unresponsive in their home by a family member.
The Hoover Police Department issued a statement statement revealing they’re operating at the scene of a death investigation “in the 700 block of Highland Manor Court.” A family member discovered the husband and wife unresponsive in their home and called police at 9:03 a.m. ET.
“A 3-year-old child was also located in the house, but was unharmed. Hoover Fire-Medics responded to the residence and pronounced a male and a female deceased from gunshot wounds,” the Hoover Police Department said. “Although the investigation is in its early stages, it appears these deaths are the result of a murder/suicide and there is no threat to the public related to this case.”
Woman Identified as Sports Reporter Christina Chambers
WBRC in Alabama later revealed former WBRC and freelance reporter Christina Chambers was one of the two found dead in the home.
“Christina joined WBRC in 2015 and quickly became a key part of our sports coverage. She appeared on Sideline every Friday night and frequently stepped in to help anchor coverage of the Mercedes Marathon, even while running the race herself,” WBRC said in remembrance of Chambers. “After leaving her full-time role in July 2021, she continued to freelance for WBRC’s Sideline during the 2025 football season.”
Before she joined WBRC, Chambers served as a sports reporter at WAKA in Montgomery, AL. She started her broadcast career as a sports and news reporter at WLTZ in Columbus, GA before eventually joining the Comcast Sports Southeast regional sports network in Atlanta.
A former standout at Cullman High School, Chambers went on to be a four-year scholarship athlete at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
