Spotted: Four new Pirates players join first team

Orlando Pirates supporters are buzzing with excitement. Will the Carling Black Label Cup match unleash the next Relebohile Mofokeng, Oswin Appollis or Mbekezeli Mbokazi?

No fewer than four young lads could make senior debuts against the Carling All-Star XI at the Moses Mabhida Stadium at 15:00.

ORLANDO PIRATES VS CARLING ALL-STAR XI

While the first team regulars prepare for Afcon 2025 with Bafana Bafana, coach Adbeslam Ouaddou has included four junior talents in his travelling squad to Durban.

The list includes two midfielders in Lungelo ‘White witch’ Dondolo, Lebo Mohlala, a winger, Simphiwe Masilela and the left-back Tshepo Mhlambi.

Sifiso Luthuli, who has been training with the seniors since the start of the season, has also made the trip.

BATTLE AGAINST KAIZER CHIEFS AND MAMELODI SUNDOWNS PLAYERS

As the Carling Knockout champions, Orlando Pirates will battle the Carling All-Star XI, a team that was created by fan votes. It features a strong Kaizer Chiefs presence, headlined by goalkeeper Brandon Petersen and exciting winger Mfundo Vilakazi. Mamelodi Sundowns also feature in the line-up. With Marcelo Allende and Arthur Sales among those selected. Kabo Yellow’s former coach, Manqoba Mngqithi, now with Golden Arrows, will lead the bench.
