ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s stock market closed down on Friday, data on its site showed.
The Colombo Stock Exchange’s All Share Price Index closed down 0.15 percent, or 34.69 points, at 22,804.84.
However, the S&P SL20 Index closed up 0.18 percent, or 11.20 points, at 6,213.91.
Turnover was 5.6 billion rupees. Most of this came from trades in capital goods stocks (Rs1.6bn).
The ASPI was weighed down by Bukit Darah (down 86.50 rupees at 1,028.75), Lion Brewery (down 146.75 rupees at 1,553.00), Carson Cumberbatch (down 41.25 rupees at 813.75), Richard Pieris (down 1.20 rupee at 32.60), and Harischandra Mills (down 526.25 rupees 7,004.75).
Ceylon Cold Stores announced a second interim dividend of 1.213 rupees a share for the year ended 31 March 2026. The stock closed down 1.50 rupees at 115.50.
E B Creasy and Company said it had executed a corporate guarantee for 400 million rupees on behalf of subsidiary Darley Butler & Co Ltd guaranteeing the banking facilities obtained by it. The stock closed down 20 cents at 67.80 rupees. (Colombo/Oct31/2025)
