Starbucks is bringing back its fan-favorite holiday cup giveaway on their unofficial holiday – Red Cup Day. This year you’ll be able to snag a reusable red Starbucks cup starting November 13, just ahead of the holiday season.
Customers who purchase any Starbucks holiday beverage of any size will receieve their drink in a festive cup, plus receive the reusable red holiday cup in a grande 16-ounce size, and for no additional charge. Starbucks followers have been loving this launch each year, with fans lining up in the drive-thru and in-store to grab one to add to their collection.
If you’re wondering which coffee beverage to select in order to receive the free merch, it will include any holiday handmade drink, so drip coffee doesn’t count. Think lattes, macchiatos, mochas, and the like. As long as a barista makes the drink for you, it should count.
Starbucks has yet to release the design of the red holiday cup, but in past years, they’ve crafted festive displays of ornaments, birch trees and ribbons. We suspect this season’s cup will be a similar look for a consistent brand message.
Fans are already taking to social media to share their excitement. “Yeah this is what I’m waiting for. Starting my collection”, said one person. “My favorite time of year”, said another. “Just added it to my calendar!”, exclaimed one more.
Starbucks Red Cup Day will be Thursday, November 13, 2025
Starbucks also dropped their new holiday menu for the season, which will launch on November 6, just days before Red Cup Day. It’ll showcase their cult-favorite Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulee Latte, Iced Sugar Cookie Latte and Iced Gingerbread Chai.
Closer to Christmas, they’ll also offer the Chestnut Praline Latte and Eggnog Latte. They’ll also offer their bags of whole bean coffee in Thanksgiving Blend, Holiday Blend, Christmas Blonde Roast and Christmas Blend, which is also available in decaf.
The bakery case will adorn Snowman Cookies, their ever-popular Cranberry Bliss Bars, Sugar Plum Cheese Danishes and their new Polar Bear Cake Pops and Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread.

Starbucks also unveiled their grocery store “flavors of the holidays” collection, which includes a variety of bagged coffees, K-cup packs, cold brew concentrate, bottled frappucinos and coffee creamers in holiday flavors, which are available at supermarkets and retailers across the country.
According to the @starbucksnews Instagram post reveiling the date for Red Cup Day 2025, they ensured guests that they would be adequately staffed, as they’re expecting the usual rush.
And as always, they will only have the reusable cups for a limited-time, until supplies last at each location. So it’s best to mark your calendar for the morning of November 13 if you want to snag one.
