It has been confirmed that Justin Bieber will be collecting an enormous fee to headline Coachella next year.

In fact, the deal is so high that the Yummy singer is set to become the highest-paid performer in the event’s history.

The star will reportedly earn more than previous performers, including the likes of Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Kanye West.

A source confirmed to Rolling Stone that the singer will earn over $10million in the two-weekend deal.

‘It’s a groundbreaking move for a headliner, and it’s something he built entirely on his own,’ the source said.

‘Between headlining Coachella and the success of Swag, it’s clear this is the start of an exciting new era for Justin — one where he’s fully in the driver’s seat.’

Coachella has never previously revealed how much they pay their headline acts, but over the years, it has been reported that the sum is typically less than $10m (£7.35m)

The New Yorker reported that in 2017, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead each earned $3-4m for their performances.

Bad Bunny, who was one of the headliners for 2023’s Coachella, allegedly got paid $5 million, as reported by the Trapital Podcast.

Taking things up a notch, The Weeknd reportedly asked for $8.5m in 2022, and Ariana Grande is said to have taken home $8m in 2019.

It was estimated by Billboard that Beyoncé made somewhere between $8-$12 million for headlining in 2018.

Bieber’s return to the stage comes after the release of his Swag I and II albums, both of which were released this year and had huge success for Bieber.

The albums contained hits including Daisies and Yukon, both of which charted across the world and have received hundreds of millions of streams on Spotify. The release of Swag marked his biggest career streaming week ever.

The singer has appeared as a guest performer in the past – featuring as a guest in the Coachella sets of Ariana Grande, Daniel Caesar, Chance the Rapper, Tems and Wizkid – but he has never before been a billed artist at the festival.

Sabrina Carpenter, Karol G, and Anyma join Bieber as fellow headliners in next year’s edition, which is set to take place between April 10 to 12 and April 17 to 19 in Indio, California

Alongside those acts, the sprawling bill includes Young Thug, The xx, Turnstile, David Byrne, FKA twigsAddison Rae, and Ethel Cain, plus legacy acts such as Iggy Pop, Moby, and Devo.
