Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X winner Adam Klein shared a heartbreaking announcement about his personal life.
“It is with profound heartbreak that I share that Kailey and I just filed for divorce. My relationship and marriage with Kailey was filled with joy, passion, and love, and together we shared some of the most incredible moments of my life,” Klein shared via Instagram on Monday, September 8. “I had imagined building a family with her and growing old together, and I am mourning the loss of that future.”
The reality star added that divorce was “not what [he] wanted” or “expected,” revealing that they separated back in May.
“Sometimes life takes us down paths we never imagined,” he continued. “I’ve been navigating the pain of this reality while slowly beginning to heal and look toward a different kind of future. I have been through loss and grief before and found happiness on the other side, and I know I can and will find love and happiness again.”
Klein was the sole survivor from the show’s 33rd season, winning Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X in 2016. He later returned to compete during season 40’s Survivor: Winners at War. He was the 11th contestant voted out on day 35 of competition.
The 34-year-old thanked his family, fans and friends for their support.
“Your kindness and presence mean more than I can say. If you’ve gone through something similar, I’d welcome your wisdom,” he concluded.
