Ever since pop superstar Taylor Swift and NFL superstar and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce made their relationship public, Swift has appeared at several Chiefs games.
And, in that same span, Swift has received plenty of screen time during the broadcasts of Chiefs games, which has led to some frustration from NFL fans who want more focus on the game and less on Swift.
That fact isn’t lost on Swift, who addressed the situation with a funny joke during her appearance on the New Heights podcast, which is hosted by Travis and Jason Kelce.
The episode, which also features Swift revealing her new album, is set to drop on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. ET.
“As we all know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast. I think we all know that if there’s one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens… it’s more of me,” she said.

After Kelce and Swift went public in 2023, Swift averaged around 25 seconds of screen time during Chiefs broadcasts that ran for more than three hours, according to The New York Times. Swift hit as high as 54 seconds of screen time during the Super Bowl that season, though.
During the 2024 campaign, Swift averaged about 30 seconds on camera, but hit 44 seconds of screen time during the AFC Championship Game. Swift was seen on camera just once during the Super Bowl.
There has been so much attention on Swift’s screen time that oddsmakers have taken bets on how many times she’ll be shown on a broadcast.
NFL fans may not love the heavy doses of Swift, but her simple presence at games is probably bringing a lot of new eyes to the sport considering her massive fan base.
She also deserves some credit for acknowledging NFL fans’ frustration and making light of the situation.
