Voice actor Greg Cipes is asking fans for help after revealing Warner Bros. fired him from Teen Titans Go! due to his battle with Parkinson’s. The news initially broke when internet journalist and DC superfan Emmanuel Newsome posted on Instagram on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
In the post, he tagged director James Gunn asking to help Cipes as the voice actor disclosed, “lots of upsetting details and information of how he was wrongfully terminated by Sam register while the other original actors get to keep their jobs.”
Newsome also shared that Cipes felt he was “discriminated against because of his Parkinson’s” and they had plans to replace him with a mimic for the new season of the TV series.
Cipes commented on Newsome’s post, explaining, “Warner Bros. literally fired me on Valentine’s Day right after I publicly shared my Parkinson’s diagnosis. It’s like a death to me that only the fans can bring back to life.”
According to Deadline, a source close to the series claims Cipes’s role as Beast Boy was already undergoing changes to be recast due to creative differences. They also claim that Cipes was offered to voice another role in the series.
In response to Cipes’s firing from Teen Titans Go!, Newsome uploaded an official Change.org campaign to reinstate the voice actor.
“We, as the dedicated fan base, urge WB Animation and Sam Register to reconsider their decision. Reinstate Greg Cipes as the voice of Beast Boy. Allow him to continue to do what he does best: bringing Beast Boy to life in a way that no other actor can. Help preserve the legacy of a character that has been a source of comfort and happiness for so many,” wrote Newsome in the campaign.
Besides Beast Boy, Cipes has also voiced Michaelangelo in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kevin Levin in the Ben 10 universe, characters in Totally Spies!, The Legend of Kora, and many more.
