In her misSPELLING podcast, Tori Spelling recalls a wild time in the mid-90s when her friend, Kevin, told her Charlie Sheen was interested in going on a date with her. A group date with Sheen turned into a crazy night for Spelling, and refusing to hide Sheen from the authorities.
Charlie Sheen Offered Tori Spelling a Crack Pipe
At the time, Sheen was known as the Hollywood bad boy, and Spelling didn’t want to go on the date alone. To ease her worry, the date became a group night out with Spelling, Sheen, Kevin, and Kevin’s parents. While at an Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills, it was clear to Spelling that Kevin was trying to set her up with the actor.
“And what I learned that night is how unimaginably intelligent [Sheen] is,” she revealed.
“Off the charts. And his humor was just so — talk about charming, smart, funny, witty. Like, this guy was it.”
For Spelling, the date was going well, and she was having a “good moment” with the Two and a Half Men star. But things quickly turned sour when they all returned to their homes. At the time, Spelling was living with Kevin, who lived a few floors above Sheen’s condo residence.
“I get a call: ‘Come downstairs. Charlie’s having this party. You have to come here, please,'” recalled Spelling about that night. She remembers her and her friends deciding to go “for one second.”
As soon as they arrived at Sheen’s door, he welcomed them with a crack pipe. Spelling also remembers there being “bodied everywhere.”
“I was like, ‘No, thanks.’ And he was like, ‘What would you like? We have every drug,'” she claimed about that night.
During the height of Sheen’s addiction, many recall stories of his wild parties that offered different levels of hard drugs. In an interview about those parties, he admitted, “At my parties, I always said, ‘Park your judgment at the door. No pain in the bedroom. And no one can die.’ Those were good rules.”
Tori Spelling Said “No” to Helping The Actor
Spelling’s involvement with Sheen didn’t end after the group date. That same year, months later, she remembers Sheen being actively pursued by authorities and presented with a warrant for his arrest.
While at home in her laundry room, her friend Kevin came in with a bizarre and outrageous request.
“All I know is I was standing in my laundry room, and Kevin comes in and says, ‘T, I need to ask you a favor.’ And I was like, Yeah, of course, anything.’ And he’s like, ‘Can we hide Charlie?'” she explained.
Her friend claimed no one would know Sheen was in the residence if they used the service elevator located in the back hallway.
“Are you f–king kidding me? No! I’m not doing that. … I’m sorry. I think he’s a really great guy,” responded Spelling at the time.
Sheen would later be arrested by authorities while in the building, with Kevin upset that Spelling wasn’t willing to help. Sheen was served an arrest warrant for having allegedly attacked his then-girlfriend, Brittany Ashland. She filed a lawsuit claiming Sheen grabbed her by the hair and slammed her into the marble floor, knocking her unconscious. Sheen was sentenced to a one-year suspended jail term and probation.
In his book, “The Book of Sheen”, the actor remembers the incident and said Spelling found the situation “radioactive and didn’t wanna go anywhere near it. Couldn’t blame her, I suppose. But f–k, man. Who knows what story I’d be banging out right now if the heir to Daddy’s throne said ‘yes.'”
