The horror/sci-fi series Alien: Earth has been one of the breakout hits of the year. With 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, tons of fan support, and presumably, a viewership that extends beyond hardcore Alien fans, the series is a unique blend of old and new. If you’re vaguely aware of the Alien franchise, you’ll be right to expect squelching chest-popping critters. But Alien: Earth is more than just a recreation of the horror hits from 1979 or 1986. It’s also a series of competing types of synthetic life: cyborgs, androids, and hybrids.

Alien: Earth‘s eighth episode, “The Real Monsters,” streams on Hulu on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. While this is the final episode in the series, as viewers will see, it appears the story is far from over.

As an FX show, Alien: Earth released new episodes on Tuesday evenings. These start streaming at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

Alien: Earth Season 2 is almost certainly going to happen
Without giving out any spoilers, it’s safe to say that the conclusion of “The Real Monsters” will leave viewers wanting more. So, is Alien: Earth Season 2 happening? Showrunner Noah Hawley has said that the show is not a miniseries, and that it could last “three, four or five” years. Meanwhile, Alien: Earth’s debut streaming numbers have been very strong. The show started with 9.2 million viewers in terms of global audience, starting on August 12, according to Screenrant. Assuming that number has held steady, FX and Hulu have a real hit on their hands.
So, clearly, the more chest-bursting, android action is coming. It’s just a matter of when.
