The CNPC reports progress in cleaning Veracruz

After the rains recorded in five states of the country, the three levels of Government maintain cleaning tasks in the affected areas, especially in Veracruz.

Mexico City, October 26 (However).- The cleaning work in the areas that were affected by the rains recorded in Hidalgo, Veracruz, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro and Puebla They are still underway, especially in Veracruz, where there were greater impacts.

The National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC) reported that the three orders of the Mexican Government They work together to “accelerate the rehabilitation and cleaning of the areas affected” by the heavy rainfall that hit part of the country in the second week of October and that, to date, has left a balance of 80 dead.

According to the information released by the CNPC, in Veracruz there are two municipalities where the cleaning works are concentrated: Álamo and Poza Rica.

In Álamo, to this day, elements of the National Guard maintain their work in the Pantepec, Ampliación Pantepec, 28 de Noviembre, Colosio and Santa Cruz neighborhoods, where, with the help of heavy machinery and light equipment, they continue with the removal of mud, branches and other materials left behind by the floods.

“The ECO Mission of the CNPC of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection coordinates in the territory to identify the necessary task force and facilitate that support continues to be integrated where it is required, strengthening joint work with the three levels of Government,” indicated the Coordination.

At the same time, in the municipality of Poza Rica, through the same ECO Mission, the routes are maintained in “intervened areas to detect needs and strengthen the integration of machinery and task force.”

According to reports from the CNPC, thanks to the work that has been implemented by the three levels of Government, progress in cleaning and rehabilitation has been recorded in the following points:

  • Colonia Las Granjas (Sector 3): Verónica, Segunda Cerrada de Silverio Pérez and Armillita streets.
  • Infonavit Las Gaviotas (Sector 1): Las Palomas, Cóndor, Alondras, Cacatúas, Las Garzas (Pelicanos corner), Peacocks, Canaries, Swans and Flamingos streets.
  • Colonia Palma Sola (Sector 3): Álamo, Altamira, Amatlán, Cerro Azul and Lázaro Cárdenas streets.

“The presence in the territory allows us to expedite work and continue recovery efforts for the benefit of families,” said the federal agency.
