The EU and Ukraine copy the US and Israel plan in Gaza with 12 points for peace and a board chaired by Trump

Brussels and kyiv prepare a 12-point proposal to end the war in Ukraine which, to a large extent, is a copy of Israel and Trump’s plan for Gaza, according to Bloomberg News.

A Peace Board chaired by the Republican would supervise the implementation of this plan that includes, among other points, that Ukraine would receive security guaranteesfunds for reconstruction and a fast track to join the EU.

Faced with Putin’s renewed demands to the US that Ukraine give up territory in exchange for a peace agreement, the European nations and Zelensky are betting that the negotiations will have as a “starting point” the current situation on the front line.

According to this peace plan, once Moscow and kyiv accept a ceasefire and commit to stopping territorial advances, the return of all deported children to Ukraine and prisoner exchange.

Ukraine would also receive security guarantees, funds to repair war damage and an accelerated path to joining the European Union.

The peace plan calls for sanctions against Russia to be gradually lifted, although some $300 billion in frozen central bank reserves would only be returned once Moscow agrees to help rebuild Ukraine after the war. Restrictions that would be reimposed if Russia attacked its neighbor again.

According to sources cited by Bloomberg News, the details of the plan are still being finalized and could change.

It remains to be seen how the announcement this Tuesday by the White House on the suspension of the second summit between Trump and Putin, which was going to take place in Budapest on a date yet to be decided, less than a week after announcing it, will affect eventual peace negotiations.
