The Attorney General’s Office of Durango confirmed this Monday the murder of the journalist Miguel Ángel Beltrán Martínez, in that State and who had denounced the activities of organized crime in the area, in the midst of the wave of violence that the country is experiencing.
The body of Beltrán Martínez, 60, was found lifeless with signs of violence and a threatening message on the highway that connects Durango with Sinaloaaccording to local media reports.

His son identified the body on Sunday when it had been transferred to the coroner’s facilities.
Currently, Beltrán had a profile on the social network TikTok in which he disseminated information from the state of Durango under the name ‘Capo’.
The 60-year-old communicator had been a contributor to media outlets such as Contexto de Durango and La Voz de Durango, and also worked as a police reporter and sports reporter.
In 2025, seven journalists have been murdered in Mexico, according to the organization defending freedom of expression and the right to information, Article 19.
Since the beginning of the century, the organization has recorded 174 murders and 31 disappearances of journalists in the republic.
