Today, Wednesday, the Israeli army carried out an arrest campaign in the Dheisheh camp in Bethlehem, while settlers set fire to a number of vehicles in cities in the occupied West Bank, according to what an Al Jazeera correspondent reported, hours after two Palestinian children were injured by occupation bullets northeast of the city of Ramallah.
Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that the occupation forces launched a massive arrest campaign in the Dheisheh camp in Bethlehem, including 50 Palestinians, most of whom were liberated prisoners.
He added that, at dawn on Wednesday, settlers set fire to two vehicles in the Deir el-Nil area in the town of Surif, north of Hebron.
Settlers also burned vehicles in the village of Atara, north of Ramallah.
In this context, the official Palestinian News Agency said that two children were injured by occupation bullets, yesterday evening, Tuesday, in the village of Al-Mughayir, northeast of Ramallah.
She explained that the occupation forces fired bullets at a group of children in the “Aqaba” area of the village, wounding two children, one in the abdomen and the other in the limbs.
According to eyewitnesses, the army withdrew after the two children were injured and stormed and searched a house.
The agency reported that Israeli forces stormed areas in Nablus Governorate, including the villages of Qusra and Burqa, south and northwest of the city, and the new and old Askar camps to the east. The raids also included the town of Sebastia, northwest of the city.
Over the course of two years of the genocidal war on Gaza, the escalation of the Israeli army and settlers in the West Bank resulted in the death of 1,062 Palestinians and the injury of about 10,000 others, in addition to the arrest of more than 20,000 people, including 1,600 children.
On October 7, 2023, Israel began a genocide in Gaza that lasted two years, resulting in the death of 68,531 Palestinians and the injury of 170,402 others, and ended with a ceasefire agreement that entered into force on October 10 of this year.
