Though Katy Perry’s break-up from Orlando Bloom was “not contentious”, she is reportedly worried about navigating one major detail in the months to come.
News of the break-up came from sources this week who claimed Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom had known about the split for a few months. Both have reportedly been keeping busy ever since, Katy on her Lifestimes tour and Orlando on his new film Bucking Fastard with Kate Mara, Rooney Mara, and Domhnall Gleeson.
“Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,” a source told Us Weekly, noting how the break-up was not contentious. “Katy is, of course, upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”
The news came as a major shock to everyone besides the couple, it seems, with another source detailing how they had kept it a secret since January. Though Katy is happy to not be filing for divorce any time soon, there is one detail that is nagging at her.

I’m not a parent, nor did my parents divorce, but kids being caught in the crossfire of a broken relationship is nothing new in the celebrity world. Knowing this, Katy is reportedly anxious about navigating the world of single parenting.
“She never saw herself being a single mom,” a source close to Katy told PEOPLE. “She’s felt a lot of pressure about her tour and now this. It’s been a lot for her. She’s still doing great, though. She’s happy and just focused on her tour. Her daughter is with her and they’re sightseeing and having fun.”
Katy has always been a proud mother, welcoming her daughter with Orlando Bloom into the world back in 2020, five years before their break-up. They named her Daisy, making her full name Daisy Bloom, and Katy has been a doting mother ever since.
“It’s the best,” she told Variety last September. “Everything that’s supposed to fade away fades away, and a balance comes in.”
It’s not yet clear what the custody situation will be, but this isn’t Orlando Bloom’s first rodeo. He also has a kid called Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, whom he divorced in 2013 after just three years together. His relationship with Katy lasted nine years.
