The One Thing Gordon Ramsay Urges Cooks to Avoid While Preparing Home Chef Meals

When Gordon Ramsay partnered with Home Chef, people jumped at the chance to create his restaurant inspired meals in their own kitchen. From juicy burgers to beautiful salmon, the dinners have spectacular flavor. While the cooking instructions are straightforward, Ramsay does offer one word of caution.

Anyone who has watched the quick-witted chef on his many television shows appreciates that his tolerance for cooking errors is minimal. The iconic memes referencing donuts and idiot sandwich have become a staple in pop culture. While these meal kits do not come with a best of Ramsay soundtrack, each meal does come with his signature advice.

Gordon Ramsay Wants Cooks to Learn This.

Through his partnership with Home Chef, I was able to speak with Gordon Ramsay. During our interview, he shared his thoughts on this collaboration, tricks for mastering his recipes and a few favorite food items.

When asked what cooks should learn or gain from his Home Chef meals, the chef was clear. Specifically, he said, “It’s like a sort of step by step master class in a way that they will gain so much more confidence and make it (cooking) a lot more exciting.”

Each dish is delicious, but it is the experience of cooking that Ramsay wants cooks to appreciate. He emphasized, “I love that curiosity with food.”

As cooks embrace the experience, Ramsay believes that cooks will be more confident to mix and match ingredients. Choosing a protein from one recipe and a garnish from another, these recipes are the inspiration starting point.

Gordon Ramsay Makes Cooks Promise This.

While Gordon Ramsay and Home Chef created these meals for cooks to master, the popular chef does have a request. Urging cooks to avoid this mistake, it is a comment that his fans would expect.

Ramsay said, “the only promise I’ve asked is please do not open a restaurant after mastering these cards because I go back to the same old question on Kitchen Nightmares. Why did you open this restaurant when you’re an amateur. Well, I had this dinner party and brought out this amazing Gordon Ramsay Home Chef food. I copied his recipes, and everyone said they were good. So, I thought I’d open a restaurant. Promise me no.”

Similar words are written on the back of every recipe card. While Ramsay hopes that every cook increases their confidence and people are delighted with the meals, it is not the quick entry to restaurant success or a ticket to MasterChef stardom. Those scenarios are best left to the professionals.

For anyone who wants to learn how to build flavor, understand how to pair ingredients and build their cooking confidence, the Gordon Ramsay x Home Chef meals are a great option. While they should not encourage amateurs to open their own restaurant, they will inspire people’s food curiosity.
