The Palestine coach dedicates the victory to the “martyrs and Jerusalem” and the Qatar coach is not satisfied with the performance sports

Ihab Abu Jazar, coach of the Palestine national team, expressed his great happiness with the 1-0 victory over Qatar – today, Monday – in the start of the two teams’ journey in the Arab Cup tournament held in Qatar during the period from 1 to 18 December.

Abu Jazar said in television statements after the match, “We are happy with this historic victory. The players are men, and they were heroes in every sense of the word.”

He added, “We snatched a valuable victory from a strong team, the homeowner and the Asian champion. It is an important victory that we are building on to renew the blood of the team. We are going through a transitional period amid the use of new faces and young elements.”

The Palestinian coach concluded his statements, “An important victory that we dedicate to our martyrs, Jerusalem, the proud Gaza, and our injured.”

On the other hand, Qatar national team coach Julen Lopetegui expressed his dissatisfaction with the players’ performance.

He said – in television statements after the match – that, “I am not happy with the performance. We wasted a lot of opportunities, and we conceded an own goal in stoppage time, but this happens in football.”

The Spanish coach added, “We look forward and focus on the upcoming matches, and I am confident that we will perform better in the next two matches.”

With this result, the Palestine national team is equal to Syria, which won 1-0 over Tunisia in the first match of the tournament earlier today, Monday.

In the second round, Palestine will play against Tunisia, while Qatar and Syria will meet, and both matches will be held next Thursday.
