The Palestinian Ambassador in Doha and the Doctors Forum praise Qatar’s efforts to support Gaza health

The Palestinian Ambassador to Qatar, Fayez Abu Al-Rub, and the Palestinian Doctors Forum in Qatar, praised With continuous support The great contribution that the State of Qatar provides to Palestinian cadres in various fields, the most prominent of which is the health and humanitarian work sector.

This came during a visit today, Tuesday, by a delegation from the Palestinian Doctors Forum to Ambassador Abu Al-Rub at the embassy headquarters in Doha.

The ambassador said that Qatar is continuing its tremendous efforts to support the health sector, whether by receiving those wounded in the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, or by supporting medical work and health care within the Strip.

Ambassador Abu Al-Rub stressed Qatar’s firm and supportive position on the Palestinian issue, emphasizing the commitment of the wise Qatari leadership to supporting the Palestinian people, and praising Qatar’s support for the Palestinian people in obtaining their legitimate rights, especially the right to health.

Qatar’s support for doctors

Forum members expressed their thanks and appreciation to the State of Qatar and its continued support for Palestinian doctors. One form of this support was that Hamad Medical Corporation provided the opportunity for Palestinian doctors to participate in its specialized training programs, as Hamad Medical Corporation is one of the most prominent medical facilities in the region.

During the meeting, the delegation of the Palestinian Doctors Forum reviewed the future plan of the Forum’s work, which focuses on supporting the health sector in Palestine in general, and the Gaza Strip in particular in the post-war phase, by organizing the sending of medical delegations from the State of Qatar to Gaza, and contributing to the implementation of medical and service projects in support of the health sector there.

The ambassador gave a comprehensive presentation of the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, and the Israeli restrictions facing it on the entry of food aid and medical supplies, praising the humanitarian initiatives of Palestinian medical personnel in Qatar, and their national role in supporting their people.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation of the Palestine Doctors Forum in Qatar presented a certificate of thanks and appreciation to Ambassador Bou Rab, in appreciation of his efforts in sponsoring and facilitating the second medical day organized by the Forum last May.

Defense in international forums

Last September, Qatari Minister of Public Health Mansour bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud said that the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza is a war crime.

The Minister’s statements came during Qatar’s participation in a ministerial round table meeting on “Health Care in the Gaza Strip” hosted by the United Kingdom, on the sidelines of the meetings of the eightieth session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Al Mahmoud stressed that the humanitarian catastrophe suffered by civilians in the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli aggression represents war crimes, stressing that the world must not remain silent about this tragedy.

He called for immediate action to stop the aggression, save lives, and protect health facilities and their workers.

Al Mahmoud also pointed to the role played by the State of Qatar, its leadership and people, in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the State of Palestine as a whole and its commitment to helping them.
