On Sunday, October 26, it was announced that United States authorities seized around 400 weapons that were going to enter Mexico illegally through the border between Texas and Tamaulipas, for which they detained two individuals identified as father and son.

The weapons seized by border authorities were transported in hidden compartments inside two trailers; The arsenal includes rifles of different calibers, high-capacity magazines and thousands of cartridges.

The United States Ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson, shared a message on his X account, formerly Twitter, in which he stressed that the seizure of hundreds of weapons at a border post is the result of the joint work of both nations on security matters.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents, an office that is part of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE), seized on October 23 around 400 weapons hidden in two trailers that they intended to cross from the United States to Mexico, across the border between Laredo, Texas, and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, according to information published by Fox News.

The officers carried out an inspection of two transport vehicles that intended to cross the border bridge, during which they noticed something suspicious on the walls of the trailer, which led to the discovery of the hidden arsenal.

As a result of the detection of the weapons, US border authorities arrested the two subjects driving said trailers, who were identified as father and son.
